Humanity Protocol Launches $1.1B Mainnet for Privacy-Focused Web3 Identity
Humanity Protocol, a blockchain identity network positioned as a privacy-centric alternative to Worldcoin, has launched its mainnet. The Hong Kong-based startup's system bridges Web2 credentials to Web3 services using zero-knowledge transport LAYER security (zkTLS), addressing privacy concerns associated with biometric models like iris scanning.
The protocol's $1.1 billion valuation follows a $20 million funding round co-led by Jump crypto and Pantera Capital. Its zkTLS technology enables verification of credentials—from airline loyalty programs to professional certifications—without exposing underlying data. Sensitive information remains confined to users' browsers, creating a portable reputation layer compatible with both Web2 and Web3 applications.
Founder Terence Kwok describes the mainnet release as transforming decentralized identity into functional infrastructure. Future plans include expanding node operations and venturing into on-chain ticketing and governance solutions.
